Are you ready to lead an engineering team and make a real difference to manufacturing performance?

My client are looking for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join their Operations team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, hands-on engineering professional who enjoys leading people, solving problems and improving the way things work. You'll play a key role in coordinating the Engineering function, supporting production, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and helping to maximise the performance and reliability of equipment.

As the Engineering Team Leader, you'll be responsible for coordinating and supporting the team of Maintenance Engineers across the site.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating and developing a team of Engineers to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality engineering support.
  • Coordinating engineering activities and acting as the key point of contact between Engineering and Operations.
  • Planning and prioritising planned preventative maintenance (PPM) alongside reactive maintenance to minimise production downtime.
  • Supporting daily production meetings and ensuring engineering priorities are clearly communicated.
  • Monitoring engineering performance, OEE and downtime data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Driving problem solving and root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  • Ensuring engineering standards, documentation, checks and processes are consistently maintained.
  • Coordinating external contractors and ensuring they comply with site safety, quality and hygiene requirements.
  • Supporting facilities management and ensuring buildings and site facilities are maintained to the required standards.
  • Completing Engineer 1-2-1s, supporting development plans and helping build capability across the team.
  • Ensuring engineering training and compliance records are maintained.
  • Supporting audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Helping identify and evaluate new machinery and equipment to improve line performance.
  • Driving Lean and continuous improvement activity, encouraging the team to generate ideas and take ownership.
  • Providing operational cover when required, including acting as the Operations contact in the absence of the Head of Operations.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone that combines strong engineering knowledge with confident people leadership. A genuine "can-do" attitude along with being reliable and accountable are all essential for this role.

Most importantly to be successful in this role you must be someone who enjoys developing people, improving performance and working collaboratively across Engineering, Production and the wider business.

If this sounds like a role that you would be interested in please send your CV for immediate consideration.
