Assistant Management Accountant

Manchester | Hybrid working | Full study support

Salary: circa £32,000- £38,000 DOE

We are recruiting for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join a supporting a high growth, Manchester based business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some previous finance experience who is commercially curious and keen to progress their career. You'll join a high performing finance team, working closely with an excellent Finance Director who is genuinely invested in your development.

With exposure to management accounts, financial analysis, project reporting and process improvement, this role offers the opportunity to build strong technical foundations while making a real contribution to the business.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.
• Assisting with project accounting and work in progress (WIP) reporting.
• Producing and developing KPI reports for the Board.
• Preparing accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Completing cash reconciliations and supporting fixed asset accounting.
• Providing financial analysis and supporting business projects.
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting.

We're looking for someone who is sharp, proactive and keen to make the most of their next career move. Ideally, you will have:

• Some previous experience in a finance role, with a desire to develop your management accounting skills.
• Started studying towards CIMA, or be keen to begin your studies (CIMA/ ACCA)
• Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail
• A proactive approach, with the initiative to question, learn and identify improvements.
• Good Excel skills and experience using finance systems
• The ambition to become a qualified accountant and progress into a more senior finance position over time.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, would be advantageous.
