The Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Group Reporting Manager to join their finance team on a 12-15month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a key role within the Group Finance function, responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and compliant consolidated reporting across the business across a number of entities

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Finance, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts for all Group entities in line with applicable financial reporting standards including FRS 102
  • Leading the annual audit process and coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate year-end financial reporting, meeting strict external deadlines within a compressed four-month post-year-end timeline
  • Leading a project to implement new accounting software for statutory accounts preparation to ensure compliance with new Companies House software filing requirements
  • Preparing monthly consolidated management accounts for the Group, including responsibility for Group consolidation processes, working to a strict month end timetable to meet reporting deadlines
  • Supporting on monthly, quarterly and annual lender reporting
  • Managing the Group's Corporation tax compliance; liaising with external tax advisors and auditors to provide information and resolve queries to ensure timely and accurate preparation of corporation tax returns and computations, calculating quarterly instalment payments, and review and monitor other tax issues / considerations relevant to the Group
  • Managing the Group insurance programme, including coordinating the completion of all required renewal forms, ensuring compliance with deadlines, and serving as the primary point of contact for all insurer queries. Responsible for having adequate and appropriate insurance coverage across the Group
  • Supporting the finance team and wider business with technical accounting matters and other ad-hoc financial analysis

Experience/Background Required:

  • Essential Skills & Experience The successful candidate will be a chartered accountant (ACA) with proven experience operating in an audit or financial reporting role, including
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualified experience, ideally practice-trained with industry experience desirable but not necessary
  • Experience of preparing statutory accounts in accounting software (such as CCH AP, CaseWare, IRIS)
  • Experience of group consolidations and reporting
  • Strong technical foundations and a good understanding of statutory reporting requirements, policies and the legislative framework in which the Group operates
  • Strong working knowledge of UK corporation tax, with experience in reviewing corporation tax computations and managing tax compliance process
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (including but not limited to XLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables etc) Personal Attributes
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
