Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled, proactive hands on Financial controller to oversee the financial operations for one of our clients. This role is responsible for financial analysis, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting skills with commercial business partnering skills, Working capital management to support the Chief Financial Officer and wider business.

There is a high level of flexibility on offer with the requirement to attend the companies office a couple of days per month. The salary for this position is between 60-70k dependant on experience pro rata for 4 days.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Analyse financial performance, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare management reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Ownership of the month end / year end accounts process
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
  • Statutory reporting

Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Monitor and manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
  • Management of the trade facility relationship and controls
  • Assist with banking relationships and payment processing.
  • Forecast short- and long-term cash requirements.
  • Payroll, expense payment processing
  • Supplier payments

Tax Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of VAT and corporation tax returns.
  • knowledge of import and export rules for VAT and duties

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Support financial system implementations or upgrades.

Experience Required:

  • 5 years of relevant finance or accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
  • Proficiency in financial software
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis
  • Excellent communication, and organisational skills, Self motivated
  • Ability to work both strategically and hands-on.
  • Experience with multi-entity or group structures
  • Exposure to ERP systems and financial automation tools
