Business Director - B2B, Manchester

A leading communications agency is seeking a Business Director to guide its B2B practice. This is a senior leadership role suited to someone who takes pride in inspiring others, shaping culture, and building lasting client partnerships.

The Business Director will lead a talented team of B2B communications specialists, providing clear direction while creating an environment where people thrive. Alongside developing client relationships, the role will focus on nurturing senior talent, championing collaboration, and ensuring the team delivers outstanding work that makes a measurable difference.

The role

  • Setting a clear vision for the B2B team and empowering people to achieve it.
  • Strengthening client partnerships by acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring long-term growth.
  • Supporting senior leaders with development, coaching, and mentoring to maximise individual and team potential.
  • Encouraging a culture of openness, creativity, and continuous learning across the agency.
  • Representing the agency externally, sharing thought leadership, and helping shape new propositions.
  • Keeping the team ahead of the curve by embedding insight and innovation into everyday work.
  • Leading by example, demonstrating empathy, accountability, and resilience.
  • Contributing to the agency's growth through strong client stewardship and collaborative business development.

Skills and experience needed

  • Proven track record of success in a senior agency role within B2B communications.
  • Hands-on experience of creating effective earned media strategies and creating award-winning campaigns.
  • In-depth commercial acumen; managing budgets and financial planning.
  • Ability to forge strong client relationships and develop new business.
