Financial Controller

Based: Chorley, Preston

Salary: highly dependent on experience, benefits and opportunity to progress to Finance Director in future as the business grows

Our client is an expanding business based on the outskirts of Chorley, a growing manufacturer and supplier in their industry servicing customers throughout the whole of the UK. This role will be the number 1 in finance for the business reporting in to the Managing Director. Looking after a small, growing team this will be a hands on position in a progressive business where focus will be on developing the finance team, functions, financial controls and ongoing finance processes to allow business growth.

To be considered you must be progressive, keen to grow/develop and have experience of implementing new processes within a growing SME. Ideally you will be 2-5 years post qual with a desire to be Finance Director in the near future.

Role:

  • Preparing group and company reports for submission to the board
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, presenting to the board
  • KPI, cash flows, budgeting and forecasting
  • Managing a team of 2 ensuring work is completed correctly and to deadlines, engaging in further recruitment as the business grows
  • Year-end procedures including liaising with auditors
  • Designing new reporting processes and functions to enhance efficiencies
  • Ad hoc reporting across various aspects of finance, presenting to the Managing Director
  • Controlling all elements of site finance including looking after key control accounts
  • Liaising and working with key stakeholders including suppliers, customers and other departments/the board

Experience:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with 2-5 years post qual experience (essential)
  • Proven track record of working in SME's
  • Experience of implementing financial controls, KPI's and processes
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Pro-active with a drive to improve systems, processes and output to benefit business
  • Excellent communication skills with a forward thinking, pro-active attitude
