Four Supply Chain

Buyer

I am really pleased to be working with my client who are a leading designer and manufacturer based in Lancashire who are looking for an experienced Buyer to join their growing busy team. Being a global leader in their field my client are looking for someone who really resonates with their company values of; quality, service, integrity and innovation. They now have a range of exciting new products and are expanding their supplier base so it is a great time to be joining their team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Accountable for a portfolio of direct and indirect suppliers, building and maintaining relationships
  • Driving change and improvement to processes in order to meet objectives and create efficiencies
  • Continuous data analyse and an excellent working knowledge of the market
  • Regularly meet with sales team to capture ongoing purchasing requirements.
  • Place purchases orders with suppliers and ensure all item are supplied
  • Monitor and produce monthly forecasts
  • Ensure product margins and gross profits are met and report on progress on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Ensure all sales plans are reviewed regularly and report purchase issues that impact sales revenues and margins
  • Monitor inventory KPIs regularly to ensure stock turn meets company targets
  • Occasional travel both UK and overseas maybe required (when allowed)

Keys skills and attributes:

  • Minimum of three years of purchasing / supply chain experience
  • Experience of working within the construction/manufacturing industries is an advantage
  • Qualified in or studying towards MCIPS
  • Proficient Excel user with knowledge in Sage
  • Proven purchasing experience in Direct and indirect spend
  • Experience of strategic/total cost procurement.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proactive team player with the ability to use own initiative.
  • Tenacious, with the aptitude to drive change and overcome obstacles to achieve set objectives.
