I am currently recruiting for a founder led growing SME who have just completed on their first acquisition. They are looking for their first FD to replace the fractional support they have. Reporting into the MD this role will require you to work closely with the MD as a strategic partner whilst being close enough to finance to manage complex project accounting and the impact this has on cashflow. Key focuses will include:
- Act as a strategic advisor to the MD on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth and profitability
- Provide robust financial planning and insights to guide investment and decision making
- Identify and evaluate investment opportunities and potential acquisitions to support the company's growth strategy
- Conduct due diligence and financial analysis for potential mergers and acquisitions
- Lead the timely and accurate preparation and reporting of financial reports, statements, and analysis to regulators and internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and present annual budgets, multi-year forecasts, and long-term financial models
- Deliver accurate financial reporting, performance dashboards, and variance analysis
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital investment programs including debt, equity,and funding for major capital projects
- Implement strong internal controls and corporate governance standards
- Oversee audits and liaise with external auditors, investors, and regulators
- Inspire, lead, mentor,and develop a high-performing finance team
This role is far more than just finance so I am looking for someone who is familiar with the SME world who has got involved in key commercial decisions within a scaling innovative high energy environment.
