
Finance Supervisor
Location: Blackrod, Bolton
Salary: up to circa: £35,000
Our client, a well established business based in Bolton, is looking to recruit a hands on Finance Supervisor to join their finance team. Supporting the Financial Controller, you'll oversee the day to day running of the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger function, leading a small transactional finance team while remaining actively involved in the day to day operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take ownership in a varied transactional role, within a stable and supportive business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day to day running of the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger team, ensuring workloads are managed and deadlines are met
- Provide guidance, training and support to the team, resolving queries and maintaining strong financial controls
- Oversee customer invoicing, credit control activities, purchase invoice processing and supplier reconciliations
- Manage transactional finance tasks including payment runs, month-end journals, bank reconciliations and reporting
- Support month-end processes, payroll, stock reconciliations and maintenance of pricing data
- Produce regular management reports and KPI information
- Maintain and support the ERP system while identifying opportunities to improve finance processes
- Build effective relationships with suppliers and internal departments to ensure the smooth running of the finance function
Skills & Attributes:
- Previous experience within a finance environment, with strong Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger knowledge
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems (ERP/Sage 200 experience advantageous)
- AAT Level 3 (or studying towards) and previous team supervision or mentoring experience would be beneficial
