Retained recruitment is something we are all too familiar with.  As a business we have always worked on retained roles at a senior level but we have now expanded our offering across all levels and divisions to support our clients in changing times.


We strongly believe that presenting the option of a retainer holds a huge advantage for all parties when recruiting in the current climate. We have put together our top five reasons (although the list really does goes on) as to why we think retainers will play a large part in the future of recruitment.


  1. Added value - working in partnership with a sole agency allows us to get to know you, the business and your values, meaning we are able to find you the best matched candidates.
  2. Cash flow – we always say great talent costs, but we don’t want the price tag attached to recruitment to compromise company cash flow. With a retainer you are able to split the fee in half (or thirds) and pay over a total of 90 days instead of the usual 14 days.
  3. Priority/commitment – we pride ourselves on our levels of commitment here at Four, if we know we have your full commitment you in turn get ours.
  4. Time – By using Four you will deal with a single consultant who sends a shortlist of carefully selected cv's. Using multiple agencies can lengthen the process and it can get messy. Each of our consultants holds full accountability for delivering results and won’t stop until they deliver.
  5. Discount – we offer a discounted percentage fee for our retained recruitment meaning in total, you pay less!
