
The Role:
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive People & Development Manager to lead initiatives that help our employees thrive, strengthen our workplace culture, and support the continued growth of our business.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about people development, employee engagement and creating an outstanding employee experience. You'll work closely with managers across the business to develop our people, support performance, and embed a positive, high-performing culture.
Duties/Responsibilities
People & Development
- Coordinate and support learning and development activities across the business.
- Work with managers to identify training and development needs.
- Lead the rollout of internal training initiatives and onboarding programmes.
- Support succession planning and career development pathways.
- Own and maintain the company training matrix and development plans.
- Ensure training records and compliance requirements are accurately maintained.
- Help embed a positive, people-focused culture across all departments.
Employee Engagement & Retention
- Develop and implement employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Monitor employee feedback, morale and engagement trends.
- Support managers with wellbeing and people-related challenges.
- Identify opportunities to improve communication, recognition and team culture.
- Coordinate employee recognition programmes and engagement activities.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Support recruitment activity across all departments.
- Coordinate interviews, offer documentation and onboarding administration.
- Ensure new starters receive a positive onboarding experience.
- Support probation reviews and early-stage employee development.
HR Administration
- Oversee HR administration and employee records.
- Support absence management and return-to-work processes.
- Ensure HR processes remain organised, compliant and consistent.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience in HR, Learning & Development, People or Employee Experience.
- A good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee development.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The confidence to work with managers at all levels of the business.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office.
- CIPD Level 3 (minimum) or equivalent experience. CIPD Level 5 is desirable.
