The Role:

We are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant and who will be a key part of our clients Manchester based Finance team, working closely with the Financial Controller and other Finance and Treasury colleagues.

The Financial Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's ?nancial records while supporting the wider ?nance function. The role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, completing balance sheet reconciliations, managing key purchase ledger processes, and providing support to Treasury Operations. Working closely with the Finance team, the Financial Accountant will help deliver accurate ?nancial reporting, maintain strong ?nancial controls, and drive continuous process improvements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & General Ledger

  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, including the production and maintenance of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other month-end adjustments.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure reporting deadlines are met, and liaise with external auditors to support this process.
  • Support the preparation of management accounts and statutory reporting requirements, including external audit requirements.
  • Support the preparation of tax returns, working with tax advisers as appropriate.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis such as trends on costs and expenses, and provide insights from analysis on the ledger.

Treasury Operations Support

  • Assist with daily cash management activities and bank reconciliations.
  • Support cash ?ow forecasting and reporting.
  • Assist with the administration of banking platforms and payment controls.
  • Monitor bank transactions and investigate any exceptions.
  • Support Treasury Operations with ad hoc reporting and process improvements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve ?nance processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist with ?nance system improvements and testing where required.

  • Maintain high standards of ?nancial governance, compliance, and control.

Skills Required:

  • Part-quali?ed accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Pro?cient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with ?nancial systems.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and
