Purchase Ledger Clerk- immediate start

Location: Stretford

3-month temporary position

Our client, is currently recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the team, initially on a circa 3-month basis, however there may be longer term opportunities for the right candidate.

The primary objectives are to ensure all purchase ledger invoices are processed in accordance with internal procedures including billing for all departments.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Processing of purchase invoices on the accounting software
  • Processing payments on a regular basis to suppliers via BACS, cheque or other methods
  • Reconcile supplier statements where considered necessary
  • Regular reconciliation of purchase ledger to main accounting nominal ledger to ensure no discrepancies between systems
  • Processing Remittance Advices for all Supplier Payments - Matter and Nominal related
  • Processing stopped and out of date cheques
  • Providing timely information to other members of the Accounts team and the wider business

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years prior purchase ledger experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
  • Ability to work under pressure and produce accurate output
  • Team player with ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment

The role will be initially working remotely; however, there may be an expectation to be office based going forward.
