Job Title: Company Accountant

Location: Bolton, UK

Salary: £30 - 40k

Our exclusive client is a Bolton-based construction business who are looking for a Company Accountant to join their team, who will eventually take over as the Finance Director for the small business.

Position Overview: As the Company Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the construction business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. You will play a key role in providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning, while also overseeing day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the company's financial accounting and reporting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections for management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances and providing recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
