Financial Reporting Manager

Financial Reporting Manager

Based: Home Based - ad-hoc travel to Bolton (very occasional)

Salary: highly dependent on experience, excellent benefits and 35 hours a week.

Our client is a leading professional services business based in Lancashire. The company have experienced organic expansion over the last few years and were part of a large acquisition last year, becoming part of an international, well-known group with exposure in 7 countries - an exciting time for the business.

Due to an internal promotion to the parent group, an opportunity for a Financial Reporting Manager has arisen. This role will suit an enthusiastic, progressive individual who will deliver financial information to key decision makers to make informed decisions. Whilst this role will be looking after financial reporting, there will be the opportunity to assist with larger ad-hoc projects to support the Head of FP&A and Finance Director as the business continues to grow

Role:

  • Ownership of the controls and processes that underpin the monthly and annual financial reporting cycles including identification of areas of improvement and implementing change
  • Preparation and production of monthly financial reporting in accordance with SLAs for both the business and parent company
  • Updating of the group finance system in line with agreed deadlines.
  • Control of the balance sheet of all internal companies ensuring that month end reconciliations are prepared and reviewed with any issues identified being rectified as soon as possible.
  • Production of annual financial statements for the group including subsidiaries.
  • Managing, leading and coaching the members of the financial reporting team including the Accounts Payable function.
  • Being the main point of contact for the annual audit ensuring all required information is provided and explained to the auditors
  • Forecasting short and medium term cashflows.
  • Maintaining and controlling the business's medium-term model.
  • Providing required information to the external tax advisors to enable them to prepare the annual tax returns for both the group and parent company

Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified
  • Experience producing financial information for stakeholders
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and planning/executing budget process
  • Experience of UK GAAP
  • Strong leader and manager able to coach other staff members
