Financial Controller

Financial Controller

Based: Rochdale

Salary: up to £75k dependent on experience + health cash plan, pension, 33 days holiday

3.30pm finish on a Friday

 

Our client is a leading, privately owned manufacturing business looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the team. This role will sit over a single business within the group reporting to the Group FD. Business turnover is forecast at 50% growth for 2022 so this is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to move to a fast paced, successful, growing company.

Role will cover all financial aspects of the business including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgets, forecasts and much more. We are looking for someone with hands on experience within an SME who can work closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager daily.

Role:

  • Maintaining accurate product costings, identifying and implementing costs savings across the business
  • Key part of the management team involved at a strategic level representing the business at monthly management meetings
  • Improving profitability but identifying inefficiencies and waste in the production cycle
  • Taking control of stock and reducing the level of stock held including slow moving stock
  • Continuously monitoring and auditing gross margins across operations
  • Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Ensuring nominal ledger is accurate and key nominal ledger accounts are reconciled monthly
  • Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, investigating and reporting variances
  • Preparing year-end accounts and audit pack, main POC for auditors
  • Preparing annual budgets and monthly financial forecasts
  • Publishing daily/weekly/monthly production profitability, yield, variance reports to improve information to support decision making
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to increase profit margins, improve efficiencies and reduce waste
  • Ensuring financial controls are in place, ensuring compliance with all tax and regulatory issues

Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (OR QBE with strong experience)
  • Experience within manufacturing desirable but not essential
  • Proven track record of driving improvements and saving costs
  • Hands on approach, strong communication skills to work with Managers internally
  • Product costing and stock experience highly desirable
