Finance Assistant

Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Assistant

Location: Tameside

Salary: up to £22,000

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a distribution & wholesale business based in Tameside.

You will be required to take ownership for the full Purchase Ledger process and support with other duties across the finance function to ensure correct information updated on the financial accounting system in an efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately within payment terms
  • Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders an goods receipts
  • Posting Supplier Invoices to Sage 50
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to identify, investigate and resolve queries
  • Obtaining approvals for non-PO invoices to post to Sage 50
  • Monitor and control the purchase ledger email inbox
  • Taking credit card payments; from customers and posting to account
  • Cover for credit control when required
  • Assisting with the month end, year end and audit
  • Filing and archiving
  • Any other ad hoc tasks asked by office manager

Experience:

  • Purchase Ledger experience essential
  • Statement reconciliation knowledge desirable
  • Ability to hit the ground running and adaptable to change
