Buyer - Leading Manufacturing organisation
Based: Rossendale
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (dependant upon experience)
Leading Electronic manufacturer based Rossendale are looking for an experienced Buyer to manage all aspects of material supply and material control as well as implementing improvements to purchasing and inventory control.
Material Supply - raising of purchase schedules and orders, expediting deliveries, updating prices/MOQ's/trigger levels, communicating supply issues internally.
Material Control - Supporting logistics function with inventory control, liaising with suppliers regarding consignment stock control
Key Responsibilities
- Control of all aspects of material supply
- Review MRP, forecast and order production materials in a timely manner
- Expedite deliveries from suppliers
- Update prices, MOQ's, trigger levels, supplier details on Epicor systems
- Communicate effectively to internal departments regarding supply issues (shortages/delays & Price changes)
- Responsible for controlling the purchasing process
- Control of suppliers
- Adapting the processes to accommodate global supply issues
- Maintenance of consignment records
- Contribution to business improvement
- Awareness of H&S, quality management system, company policies and procedures
Candidate specification
The successful candidate will be responsible for a sizeable range of components across a number of suppliers and should therefore have demonstrable experience within this area.
- Excellent working knowledge of effective purchasing/scheduling systems
- Excellent knowledge of effective stock control systems
- Good knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate across all levels
- Experience in a buying role is essential however industry exposure can be open
