Interim Procurement Officer

I am delighted to be working with my client based in Lancashire who are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to come and join their team on an Interim basis. It is a busy environment and the work my client does is all about delivering a trusted service to the community. My client have long term ambitions and work on various projects in order to keep driving performance ensuring that they are delivering on what they set out to achieve.

What will you be doing?

Reporting into the Head of Procurement the role and responsibilities for the Interim Senior Procurement Officer include:

  • Directly providing a range of services relating to the procurement of goods, services and works
  • Providing commercial / procurement advice and providing quality reports in order to assist in overall planning
  • Undertake procurement and tender activity in line with EU/Public Contracts Regulations, including all amendments and subsequent changes following Brexit
  • To support a 'best value' procurement environment, supporting Corporate Plans
  • Provide commercial / procurement advice
  • Produce commercial documents to a standard which reduces commercial risk
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders

Who would this role suit?

This role is ideal for an experienced Procurement professional who is able to hit the ground running and work on procurement projects in addition to someone who:

  • Has public sector experience
  • Is MCIPS qualified or working towards the higher levels
  • Has an understanding of UK/EU Procurement Regulations, Legislation and best practise
  • Has excellent stakeholder management
