Financial Controller

Based: Bolton

Salary: circa £50k, temporary role with possibility of permanent

Our client are a well-established retailer with over 120 stores spanning the North of the UK. The business are continuing to expand their offerings and more stores across a number of high streets and now require an experienced Financial Controller on a temporary basis.

This role will take responsibility for the finance function, leading a small team and reporting directly to the COO. There could be a permanent opportunity for the right person also

Role:

• Producing management accounts including accruals and prepayments at store level
• Preparing year end figures and management of year end audit process
• Overseeing whole finance function including purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll
• Cash management and budgeting
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Management of suppliers including retail store rent, rates, electric etc.
• Preparing VAT returns
• Working with stores to manage budgets and answer queries

Experience:

• Qualified OR QBE with experience at Finance Manager/FC level
• Ability to hit the ground running and confident in approach
• Strong excel and systems knowledge
• Available with 1-2 weeks notice max
