Credit Controller

Role: Credit Controller - immediate start

Based: Radcliffe

Salary: £22,000-£27,000 (dependant on experience)

Status: Temporary with a view to be made permanent (based on performance)

Hours: Mon-Thus 8:30am-5pm & Friday 8:30am-4pm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join one of our clients based in Radcliffe. Along with credit control, this role will require the relevant individual to take charge of account management and report to the Financial Controller.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a results driven individual to progress their career and gain exposure to well-known international corporations. The business turned over an impressive £40 million in the last 12 months and is looking to continue to grow with ambitious future plans.

No qualifications are required for this role, being highly focused on personality and background. An ideal candidate will have 2 years + in a similar role and will have a proactive approach to their work. Following probation, there is also the opportunity for hybrid working, with 1-2 days a week working from home.

As the credit controller, your role will include:

  • Timely collection of outstanding debt from customers
  • Responsible for meeting targets in monthly receivables meetings
  • Processing credit requests and updating records
  • Processing new account applications and ensuring all signed agreements in place before opening of accounts on JDE (training provided)
  • Work closely with our credit insurers to ensure that appropriate cover is in place and that we have reduced risk where possible
  • Regular ongoing reviews of credit limits to meet insurance policy requirements including renewals
  • Posting and allocating of cash, debit notes and discounts on the ledger and ensuring accounts are reconciled correctly
  • Credit checking/releasing sales orders
  • Assisting with sales month end procedures, including reporting on debtors, sales and returns.
  • Sending Invoices, Credits and Discounts to HSBC
  • Balancing and keeping the invoice discounting reconciliations up to date
  • General ad-hoc duties to assist the finance team and the wider business.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' credit control experience, and experience dealing with credit insurers
  • Strong analytic and numeric skills to deal with large volumes of data
  • Able to prioritise workload and demonstrate flexibility
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Persistence and tenacity, assertiveness without being aggressive, ability to build relationships with clients
  • Confident and independent with a down to earth can-do approach
