Tax Manager

Tax Manager

Based: Preston area, Lancashire

Salary: highly dependent on experience. Good opportunity with an expanding business offering strong exposure for career progression. Excellent benefits including 34 days holiday + stats, enhanced pension and flexible working hours.

Role will initially be working from home with the plan to operate a split week office/home in future

Our client is a leading service business extremely well-known across the North West. A growing organisation, they have secured investment over the last 5 years to continue to develop new areas of their business. With an international presence and strategy to continue expanding overseas, this opportunity requires an experienced Tax specialist who want to learn, develop and grow with a business

Role:

  • Providing an internal tax advisory service to the business across all departments/areas
  • Ensuring all strategic and operational decisions are based on clear advice and robust processes
  • Ensuring compliance with all taxation legislation and regulation across 12 subsidiaries
  • Developing taxation policies and strategies to optimise the Groups tax position
  • Providing support and advice on all areas of tax, commissioning external advice when required
  • Supporting new initiatives and developments with appropriate tax advice
  • Providing guidance and training to staff to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements under current legislation both UK and overseas
  • Developing standard processes for tax reporting and monitoring
  • Preparing and submitting all necessary tax returns and schedules
  • Working closely with other stakeholders - able to challenge, influence, advise and implement change in all business entities
  • Solving complex reporting issues as they arise, providing advice and information to facilitate decision making

Experience:

  • Fully qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Significant Tax experience within a large business, ideally with multiple entities
  • International tax experience would be highly desirable but not essential
  • Ability to influence and challenge within an ever changing environment
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, building strong & trusting relationships
  • Experience manipulating and creating complex models in Excel
