Tax Accountant (CTA)

Tax Accountant

Based: Trafford Park (hybrid)

Salary: highly dependent on experience, 25 days + stats, bonus, health cashplan, 35 hour working week flexible/hybrid working

 

Our client is a leading, ambitious services & property business extremely well-known throughout the North West. Established over 50 years ago the business has grown dramatically over the last few years, sitting as part of a wider group this role will be working within a brand new role to support the groups Tax Manager. The business are well-known for being a fantastic place to work, offering great support and opportunities for growth and wide exposure to develop your career

We are looking for a driven, qualified CTA Accountant/Advisor with extensive tax experience they can bring to the role who is keen to continue developing.

Role:

  • Providing dedicated tax support across the group business, ensuring all tax compliance and reporting requirements are met
  • Reporting to Group tax Manager on UK focused tax across a range of group businesses and joint venture interests
  • Responsible for Direct Tax involving monthly and annual tax processes, tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements
  • Working alongside external advisors in the completion of annual UK corporation tax returns
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly tax forecasts for internal reporting, calculating tax provisions for monthly management accounts
  • Calculating tax provisions for budgets, business plans, forecasts and disclosures for inclusion in statutory accounts
  • Calculating capital gains and trading profits on property sales
  • Reviewing tax packs completed by finance team for annual tax computations, dealing with querying from external advisors
  • Identifying and calculating capital allowances and other tax reliefs
  • Supporting indirect tax and VAT matters
  • Assisting and reviewing impact of legislative changes, communicating to wider team
  • Involvement in various projects including tax planning and structuring

Experience:

  • CTA qualified essential
  • Tax trained from either practice or industry
  • Experience within tax from a large group structure would be highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to assist non-finance managers
  • Wide ranging tax experience, especially corporation tax – essential
