Supply Chain Officer (Import/Export)

Employment Type: PermanentLocation: KnutsfordSalary: £25000 - £35000 per annum

My client are a well-established family run manufacturer delivering into the; retail, wholesale and hospitality sectors across the UK in addition to having international joint ventures. They are a company that have strong growth plans and pride themselves in delivering customer service excellence.

My client are expanding their Supply Chain team and are now looking for an Import/Export Supply Chain Officer to come and join their team. The main responsibility of this role will be focused on the import of goods and raw materials from across the globe with lots of collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring that stock is moved as efficiently as possible. This role will be predominantly based at their offices in Knutsford but will require some time at their site in Manchester.

What you will be doing?

Collaborating with the Commercial team you will have a real impact on providing the best in class service ensuring that the import process is as smooth as possible. Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • The full import process creating product codes and ensuring the new line forms are complete and accurate
  • Taking the data from purchasing, creating new line forms and codes and inputting PO's and IMTLs ensuring all data is complete and maintained throughout the import cycle
  • Liaising with suppliers and freight forwarders ensuring that paperwork is on time and the IMTL updated daily
  • Demurrage analysis, obtaining approval, invoicing to suppliers and chasing payment
  • Liaising with cold stores regarding bookings for stock and ensuring any issues are mitigated to reduce any possible impact and minimal demurrage fees
  • Ensuring all stock on order or booked in is in the right location
  • Work with Sales, Technical and 3rd Party Logistics suppliers to arrange exporting of goods to Europe with all of the necessary paperwork and clearances
  • Work with the Finance team to manage Import Trade Loans ensuring the trade loans are set and approved timely

This role would suit someone who is confident in communication at all levels. Someone who is not afraid of a challenge, detail orientated and drives efficiencies. In addition to having:

  • A university degree or 3 + years Supply Chain experience
  • Importing and exporting experience
  • Advanced in Excel and very computer literate
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask
  • Commercially focused
  • A positive attitude
  • The ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment
