About the team:
The Solution Architects are a vital part of the IT Strategy, Architecture & Analysis team. This team sets the course for technology investment, aligning it with the strategic objectives and delivering innovative IT solutions to support the evolving business needs. The IT Strategy and Delivery Team comprises various functions, including IT Strategy, Architecture & Analysis, Programme & Portfolio Management, Project Engineering, Applications Development, Business Intelligence, and Testing.
The Role:
As a Solutions Architect, you will be at the forefront of technical design and delivery process. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Business Analysts to understand business drivers and requirements.
- Designing and implementing solutions architecture for various business applications and technologies.
- Creating and documenting technical functional and non-functional requirements.
- Developing data models in alignment with the company's data policies.
- Keeping an eye on technology industry trends and market opportunities.
- Providing technical guidance to IT teams to ensure adherence to technical standards and architectural principles.
- Identifying and mitigating technical debt and ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Staying updated on emerging technologies and their practical applications.
- Defining architecture principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns.
- Maintaining IT design authority governance to ensure compliance with architecture principles.
Capabilities & Experience:
Technical Skills:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Adept at influencing and guiding IT leaders.
- Ability to balance short-term and long-term implications of decisions.
- Collaborative and supportive mindset.
- Previous experience in a similar Solution Architecture role.
- Exposure to diverse technologies and processing environments.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies.
- Understanding of Architecture toolsets is a plus.
