Senior Payroll Officer

Our client is looking for Payroll Manager to join them at a busy and exciting time! Although you won't be responsible for managing any staff you will be the number 1 in Payroll reporting to the Finance Director/HR Manager. This is a newly created position due to changes and growth within the business, so a great opportunity to make the role your own. Ideally you will have experience of working within a fast paced environment where excellent organisation skills are required. You will have keen eye for detail and be able to manage your own workload.

Some of the duties will include:

To manage and coordinate payroll for circa 1500 employees across 5 sites
To maintain accurate information updating new starts, leavers, promotions, hour changes.
To manage payments for maternities, paternities, SSP and GIP.
To assist in processing deductions from salaries (tax, national insurance, childcare vouchers, Healthcare)
To process new starts, leavers, pension changes, salary inputs, movement of staff, promotions/transfers, and healthcare, sick pay, maternity, paternity.
To manage and process monthly pension contributions and pension uploads.
To assist in the development of the systems and processes.
To issue the Finance Department with payroll files.
To prepare for the new tax year making sure that the previous tax year is closed and year end reports and declarations are completed.
To provide standard monthly and annually employee reports.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

Been in a recent Payroll Position with 2+ years' experience
Confident on Excel

My client is looking for someone that has recent payroll experience and who is therefore able to hit the ground running. Current knowledge of payroll related legislation is important, along with excellent communication skills and being IT literate.
