Senior Finance Manager

Senior Finance Manager

Based: Lancashire

Salary: highly dependent on experience, excellent growing business offering fantastic opportunities

Our client is a leading global services business, currently with operations across 20 countries around the world with plans to continue their expansion over the next few years. This role will sit within their large finance function, acting as number 2 in finance for a large business subsidiary, you will be looking after a team of 5 working closely with the Financial Controller on a wide range of finance duties including group integration of future acquisitions due to take place over the next few years.

Role:

  • Key support to the Financial Controller, taking a lead on training, developing and progressing a small team
  • Ownership of the audit process, first POC for auditors
  • Business partnering with stakeholders to develop commercial and operational understanding
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, reviewing work from Accountants
  • Presentation of monthly numbers to Financial Controller and preparing key inputs for board back, presenting to senior management
  • Ensuring strong month end controls, working to wider group reporting deadlines
  • Reviewing work from Management Accountants including monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Lead process documentation on new controls, improving standardisation of tasks and processes across the team
  • Understanding and investigating variance analysis relating to actuals vs budgets and forecasts
  • Supporting commercial finance with performance analysis to drive decision making
  • Preparing and reviewing site P&L's ensuring discrepancies are investigated
  • Ensuring local GAAP requirements are applied correctly
  • Leading role in the integration of finance functions on new and future acquisitions - assisting in key stages of system implementation projects

Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • Practice or industry trained considered (industry experience required)
  • Experience working in a large, group business with multiple entities
  • Experience working in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Team management experience highly desirable
