Senior Despatch Manager

A well-established family owned supplier to some of the UK's largest; retailers, independents and wholesalers is looking to appoint a Senior Despatch Manager to join their successful growing team based in Lancashire reporting into the Operations Manager. My client prides itself on supplying the highest quality by embracing the shifting markets and ensuring that their standards remain top of the game. Key responsibilities for the Senior Despatch Manager include:

  • Providing full organisation and management of the despatch team, whilst being responsible for all elements of despatch and finished goods storage. Including full accountability for the cold stores, despatch equipment and health and safety of the team
  • Recruitment, management and up skilling of the despatch team to support multi-site growth, future proofing and expansion in line with the company's requirements all year round, this includes peak periods where my client operates as a multi-site cold storage facility
  • Developing a strategy that will support daily operations and the seasonal uplift in line with KPI's
  • Complete all work practices to Health & Safety legislation, compliant with the Health & Safety Act 1974. Completing risk assessments to meet the fast-paced environment with the support from the Health and Safety manager
  • Manage and maintain an efficient despatch team, manage all colleagues effectively in line with company procedures, objectives and development plans. Ensuring holiday management and rota's are kept up to date to ensure team are efficient and effective in delivering and tracking OTIF compliance

It is essential that the successful candidate is a forward thinker, has previously worked in a seasonal fast-paced business, has cold-store manaagment experience and has managed key KPI's with a track record of improving and driving performance. People development is at the forefront with my client so it is key that the successful candidate has a strong people focussed approach as this role will oversee a team of 24 with 1 direct report.
