Senior Administrator

Position: Senior Administrator
Salary: up to £21,500
Location: Blackburn
Job type: Permanent, 29 day days holiday PLUS bank holiday, rising to 35 days after 3 years!


We are looking for a friendly and personable administrator/credit controller to join our client, a leading education provider in Blackburn. This role will involve working with students regarding their loan payments and ensuring compliance with the loan provider is met in order to maintain maximum cash collection.

This role will be well suited to an experienced administrator who is looking for more flexibility than their current employer can offer, with annual leave rising to 35 days holiday plus bank holidays following 2 years of service.


The role:

  • Support the Financial Transaction Processing Manager in ensuring that all invoices and credit notes raised in relation to income
  • Ensure that the learners have completed their application and have funding in place. In instances where the application is not complete, liaise (as appropriate) with the learner, tutor, Student Finance Advisors and Student Finance England to resolve any issues.
  • Maintain the HE/FE record system for both full and part time students upon receipt of information from the students or Student Finance England.
  • Contact learners to arrange payment of amounts owed, following the credit control process
  • Allocate cash receipts against invoices owing
  • Checking Receipting and balancing monies received in Registry to EBS reports.
  • Escalate to debt collectors and or courts, as directed
  • Supporting the Financial Transaction Processing Manager, working with Registry and MIS teams, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of sales ledger tasks through systems development activities, including automation of all processes.
  • Ensure that debt reports are run monthly and debts are chased
  • Supporting the wider Finance team
