Job Title: Senior Accounts Payable Clerk
Location: Manchester City Centre
Pay Bracket: Up to £25,000 Plus AAT Study Package

Our client is a global engineering organisation based in Manchester, who are looking for a Senior Accounts Clerk to join their growing accounts team. This role would suit a Purchase Ledger Clerk with 2+ years' experience, who is looking for the next step in their career, with lots of support and mentorship on offer.
We are looking for intelligent and ambitious people who are looking to pursue a career in accounting and finance with support on offer. This is a great role to gain exposure to the accounts function alongside supportive management. This role is open to candidates who are studying their AAT qualification
What does the role involve?
Reporting directly into the finance director, your responsibilities will include supporting the organisation in performing a variety of finance tasks. This may include overseeing the AP position for the whole company and monitoring workload in all company areas of needs or issues.
- Provide weekly information to the AP team on approvals, duplicates, rejected invoices and missing approvers
- Ensure accuracy of invoices and expenses for the company
- Authorising weekly payment runs
- Liaise with purchase ledger administrators to chase historical issues
- Oversee purchase ledger work across different continents
- Dealing with a high volume of daily invoices
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Answer stakeholder queries
- Ad-hoc tasks as required by the Group Finance Director
Who would be the right fit?
This role would suit someone who is a strong communicator with a desire to learn, being able to work independently and within a team.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Excel
- Determination and hard work to ensure that deadlines are met
- Exceptional time management and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and improve
