With over a decade of experience, the specialise in providing hosted ERP solutions from their UK data centre locations. They work closely with business partners to deliver secure and highly available cloud-based solutions to clients worldwide, adhering to industry best practices and ISO standards.

Position Overview: As a 2nd Line Support Specialist with this business, your principal role will involve the deployment, monitoring, and support of the datacentre private cloud platform and customer systems hosted on it. They place a strong emphasis on security and adherence to industry-standard security, management, and documentation processes. You will also develop expertise in key products in their portfolio, including VMware vSphere, IBM SAN Storage, Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Veeam Backup, and supporting technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, monitor, and support the datacentre private cloud platform and customer systems.
  • Adhere to industry-standard security, management, and documentation processes.
  • Build in-depth knowledge of key products in the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team, share knowledge, and contribute to documentation of new processes and technologies.
  • Work within the 24/7 service operation, including potential out-of-hours and weekend work with shift flexibility.
  • Participate in on-call support for front-line teams outside of regular office hours.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience as an IT support engineer with strong knowledge of Windows Server, VMWare, Veeam, and Networking.
  • Ideally, experience with Azure and/or AWS, Exchange (on-premises and online), and scripting knowledge (bash/PowerShell, etc.).
  • Strong desire to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
