Purchasing Coordinator

Product Design & Manufacturing - Full end to end (Design to Distribution)

Bolton Based - Full time office (Flexible working available)

Salary - up to £28000pa dependant upon experience

My client are an International Trade award wining Bolton based 'True UK Manufacturer' and market leader.

Following a period of significant revenue growth, the business are looking to add a Purchasing Coordinator to their established team.

As purchasing coordinator you will be responsible for;

  • Raising purchase orders for all delegated suppliers, sub-contractors and service providers as and when required to meet the needs of the business and keep a constant check on stock levels to avoid excessive purchasing of stock and/or stock shortages.
  • Ensuring that all purchase orders are reconciled to the order acknowledgements as soon as they have been received to ensure that there are no discrepancies.
  • Ensuring that all orders not received on time are chased for delivery and the new expected delivery date inputted on to the system.
  • Obtaining quotes for miscellaneous bought-in-items and special parts for production items and communicate them to the relevant personnel in a timely manner.
  • Creating and inputting Bills of Material and Bills of Operations onto the ERP system for non production products/parts as required.
  • Obtaining quotations from suppliers for specialist products/parts and assist suppliers with drawing requests to enable them to provide prices.
  • Ensuring that supplier questionnaires for all delegated suppliers are distributed and are chased for return along with all required certifications.

Person specification

  • Ability to work within a fast paced manufacturing environment adhering to short lead times
  • Experience with supplier management within a purchasing environment
  • Experience within the manufacturing industry would be highly advantageous however not essential
  • Confident in communicating with managers and other stakeholders alike with a style that is clear and collaborative
  • Commercial mindset with an understanding of how purchasing contributes to the wider business performance
  • Desire to develop both personally and professionally
