Purchasing Coordinator

Employment Type: PermanentLocation: BoltonSalary: £22000 - £24000 per annum + Benefits


A successful manufacturing organisation based in Bolton are seeking an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis. The organisation employs around 200 members of staff, and you will be reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager in a small team of 3 people.
The role is a varied and fast paced position, and you will be committed to providing professional and proactive purchasing support. Please see below an overview of your duties:

  • Raising purchase orders for suppliers, sub-contractors and service providers
  • Monitor stock levels within the business to avoid excessive purchasing and/or stock shortages
  • Sales order processing and ensuring all orders that are not received on time are logged accurately on the system with new delivery data being inputted
  • Obtaining quotes for miscellaneous items
  • Creating and inputting Bills of Materials onto the ERP system
  • Ensuring all relevant documentation for suppliers is obtained including required certifications
  • Obtaining quotations from suppliers for specialist products/ parts
  • Support the Purchasing Manager as required
  • General administrative work within the Purchasing department


The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Two years' experience within a similar position
  • Experience within a Manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous
  • Confident when communicating with stakeholders
  • A clear and collaborative approach, with a commercial mind-set
  • Excellent computer literacy
