Purchasing Assistant

My client specialises in the manufacture and distribution of a wide product range. They are a family owned business with a very positive and inclusive culture looking for a Purchasing Assistant to come and join their team based in Greater Manchester.

What will you be doing?

As part of the Purchasing department you will support the team at all stages of the Supply Chain to ensure that material flow in all areas supports planned production and related functions. Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Placing purchase orders
  • Progressing and expediting purchase orders
  • Processing purchase order confirmations
  • Liaise with the sales team on; product queries, stock queries, price queries
  • Liaise with suppliers
  • Liaise with managers and supervisors across the business with any queries or issues they may have

Who would this role suit?

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to effectively communicate via email
  • A friendly demeanour and positive attitude
  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel are essential. Training on our own ERP system will be given
