I am currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join my clients team as a Purchasing Administrator. As a key member of the purchasing department, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, supplies, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the procurement process for construction projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to determine project requirements and specifications.
  • Identify potential suppliers, obtain quotes, and negotiate contracts to secure the best prices and terms.
  • Place orders with suppliers, track deliveries, and ensure timely receipt of materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues with suppliers regarding deliveries, pricing, or quality.
  • Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends, new products, and competitive pricing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a purchasing administrator, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Proficient in using purchasing software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry regulations is preferred.
