Purchase Ledger Clerk
Location: Preston
Salary: Up to £23,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our exclusive client, a charitable organisation based in Preston is looking for a full time ledger clerk to join their team on a permanent basis. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager you will be required to manage the organisation's purchase ledger, petty cash function and to contribute to the policy and decision making.

Job Description:

  • To receive and administer all paperwork required to fulfill the purchase ledger function
  • To prepare and post invoices and credit notes on to the computerised accounts package.
  • To prepare and dispatch payment of supplier invoices in conjunction with the Finance Manager in line with payment terms and cashflow requirements.
  • To deal with any purchase ledger queries for internal departments and external suppliers.
  • To prepare the cashbook and post on to the computerised accounts package.
  • To prepare all monthly purchase ledger reconciliations and controls.
  • To assist in the preparation, posting and checking of month end accounting journals.
  • To administer, control and reconcile the organisation's petty cash function.



Ideally you will:

  • Be used to processing high volumes of invoices.
  • IT literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Have experience of working as part of a team
  • Great attention to detail
