Purchase Ledger Assistant

Purchase Ledger Clerk

My client, a well established logistics Company in Burnley are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to become an integral part of their finance team of 3 based in Padiham.


The purpose of the role is to assist the accounts department in the day to day operation of the accounts payable function. This is a new role due to growth within the business.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Accurately code and post purchase invoices on to a bespoke purchase ledger system, ensuring adequate authorisation in a timely manner
  • Match invoices with purchase orders as required
  • Post payments and cash allocations on the purchase ledger
  • Propose purchase ledger payment runs and agree schedule of payment
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Query resolution and escalations
  • Run full month - end procedure on purchase ledgers
  • Maintain accurate manual and computerised records as appropriate


The Ideal Candidate:

  • 2 years purchase ledger experience
  • Good IT skills to include Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • You must be able to manage your time and work to strict deadlines
