Payroll Clerk

Role: Payroll Officer
Location: Preston + Home Working
Salary: £21,000-£25,000 Depending on Experience

We are recruiting an enthusiastic payroller with a years' plus experience to join a growing and reputable company. Based in Preston City Centre, as a payroll officer for our client you will be working in a friendly team who is well known for maintaining great relationships and going the extra mile.

An ideal candidate will have end to end payroll experience - or a strong willingness to learn and experience within a payroll bureau. This role is great for someone who is looking for more flexibility and a better work/ life balance with agile working on offer and the additional benefit of being able to buy and sell holidays between colleagues. Free parking is available outside the office and Preston train station is only a 5 minute walk away. Progression opportunities and study support are also on offer with further details below!


Responsibilities include:

  • End to end payroll
  • Auto enrolment pension scheme
  • Issuing payslips and PAYE info
  • Query resolution and building rapport with clients
  • Liaising with government and ensuring compliance with any changes to legislation, keeping up to date with HMRC requirements
  • Creating reports for senior management
  • Ad hoc duties as required


What we are looking for:

  • High attention to detail and great time keeping
  • Experience managing multiple payrolls or working within a bureau
  • Strong ability with Microsoft office - particularly Excel
  • Personable and professional communication skills
