Payroll Clerk

Senior Payroll Clerk
Based: Blackburn
Salary: Dependent on experience - up to £25k


Our client are a well-known chartered accountants based in the Blackburn area. The company is always expanding, taking on new clients and companies in the UK.


They are currently looking to appoint a Senior Payroll Clerk to join their team. Under the supervision of the Payroll Manager and working within a fantastic, friendly and supportive team you will be:


Role:

  • Managing payroll processes for clients from start to finish
  • Managing own allocation of clients
  • Contacting new employees to confirm payroll processes and setting up new payrolls
  • Inputting transactions and timesheets, processing starters and leavers and dealing with client enquiries
  • Auto-enrolment for pensions and supporting the pension scheme set up - getting clients ready for processing
  • Dealing with HMRC - external reporting
  • Processing weekly, monthly and fortnightly payrolls
  • Processing BACS timetables, issuing payslips, collating summary reports and PAYE information to clients


Experience in Payroll from an Accountants / Bureau background is desirable but not essential


You must be a friendly, hard-working team player with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Excellent customer service skills are a must and experience on Excel (importing and exporting) is essential
