Management Accountant - Manufacturing & Production

Management Accountant - Manufacturing & Production

Stockport based - Hybrid working available

Salary - up to £55k dependant on experience and qualification

Leading Manufacturing organisation based in South Manchester are looking to secure and experienced and qualified Management Accountant on a permanent basis following a period of growth.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for developing and delivering accurate and timely management and production reporting information to support the business as well as recognising key areas of improvement and profitability.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of the management and production accounts and related reporting to deliver accurate information on a timely basis in line with both local and Group requirements
  • Perform month-end activities under tight reporting deadlines - proactively identify process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy of reporting
  • Produce and maintain product costings
  • Regularly review factory performance and apply thorough business understanding to identify, understand and explain variances to expectations, including product margin analysis
  • Produce accurate and insightful reconciliations and ensure that reconciling items are appropriately actioned and closed
  • Assist in the completion of the external audit work and internal delivery requests, producing informative analysis when required
  • Develop strong working relationships with group stakeholders and a thorough understanding of group reporting requirements
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the wider finance team to support completion of key deliverables eg. budget and re-forecast process

Person Specification

  • Qualified accountant from any major body (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) - will consider QBE with significant Manufacturing exposure within a Management Accountant role.
  • Experience of preparing management and production accounts in an evolving business with experience of stock accounting and related processes eg. FMCG or manufacturing business
  • Experience of an SME as part of a larger reporting group
  • Strong organisational skills - able to prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Great attention to detail, high professional standards and personal integrity
  • Strong communication skills - able to communicate effectively across the business.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Excel, and SAP B1 experience desirable
  • Power BI experience desirable
  • The ability to work with key stakeholders across the business
