Management Accountant

Based: Blackburn (hybrid)
Salary: £negotiable DOE + good benefits + flexible/hybrid working


Our client are a UK leading manufacturing and retail business based in Blackburn. Our client has been established over 15 years and has grown significantly due to strategic growth and acquisition. Due to their growth, they require a strong Management Accountant to join the team who will provide a critical role in defining and enabling business change.


This role will be responsible for preparing the Management Accounts for their Blackburn site, there will be no staff management.


Role:

  • Create monthly & periodic management reports to identify results, trends, and forecasts
  • Support the month and year end closing processes
  • Reporting of and supporting the reduction of Operational Costs with emphasis on manufacturing variances
  • Monthly overhead forecasting, reporting v budget and analysis of variances
  • Review budgets regularly to look for cost and cash reduction opportunities
  • Provide Operations / Supply Chain with inventory insight to minimise stock levels and slow moving / obsolete inventory
  • Support the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning process
  • Prepare Capital Expenditure proposals
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported


Experience:

  • Qualified/part qualified
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills - ability to present large amounts of data and complex information clear and precisely
  • Ability to form strong effective relationships across various departments
