Junior Accounts Assistant

Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Pay Bracket: £19,000 - £22,000

Our client is an expanding business based in Bolton, who are looking for an accounts assistant to join them on a permanent basis. Based in the service sector and experiencing rapid growth, we are looking for a junior / entry level finance candidate who will benefit from training alongside a friendly team. Study support is also on offer for someone looking to pursue their AAT qualification.

This is a stable opportunity within a business which has continued to thrive throughout the pandemic and has great plans for the future. As the accounts assistant, you will support senior members of staff and liaise with multiple areas of the business to produce timely and accurate results. This role would suit someone who is beginning their career who wants to learn, such as a college leaver, or an established transactional level accounts assistant who wishes to remain at this level.

Your main roles and responsibilities:

Reporting directly into the finance manager, your role will be to:

  • Inputting invoices onto the bespoke system
  • Daily data inputting and manipulation using the system and Excel
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Cost of sale calculations
  • Assisting the management team and wider accounts function where needed

The ideal candidate will have:

An ideal candidate background would be someone with an understanding of sales and purchase ledger, with some experience working within an office environment being advantageous

  • Ability within Excel, able to manipulate and manage data sets
  • A friendly personality and a positive approach to work
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn

You'll benefit from:
