Health & Safety Manager

I am currently working on a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to join an award-winning provider of design and build solutions. My client is a people focused company with their designs being targeted around creating a happy and positive workplace.

What you will be doing?

As the Health and Safety Manager you will report into the directors and there will be aspects of self-management. You will however be part of the wider team, contributing to their inclusive values and promoting a health and safety culture with key responsibilities including:

  • Provide Health and Safety advice to office and site-based staff, including advising on CDM 2015 regulations, as well as environmental issues.
  • Compiling Pre-Construction information for each project and producing Construction Phase Plans.
  • Produce, review and request Risk Assessments, Method Statements for each project.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture where employees are encouraged to report unsafe acts, behaviour and near misses.
  • Review and update companies HS&E policies.
  • Co-ordinate internal and external audits relating to safety and environmental standards, ensuring follow up actions are implemented.
  • Ensure appropriate training is completed by staff.
  • Maintain and Improve the Health and Safety Management System in line with ISO 45001: 2018 requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental legislation.
  • Complete and issue Operations and Maintenance manuals to clients.

Who would this role suit and key skills and attributes?

  • NEBOSH certificate or equivalent and working towards Diploma level
  • Membership of a professional body such as the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety
  • Good understanding of CDM 2015 regulations
  • Have a good level of IT literacy
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001
  • Experience in similar roles across construction
  • Forward thinking approach
