Based: Manchester area

Our client is a leading services & property business extremely well-known throughout the North West. Established over 50 years ago the business has grown dramatically over the last few years, sitting as part of a wider group this role will be taking a lead as Head of Shared Services managing an indirect team of 18

We are looking for an ACCA/CIMA qualified Accountant with strong management experience. This role will report directly to the Head of Finance responsible for developing and leading a Shared Services team delivering purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and management/project accounting activities. There are lots of opportunities for process creation and improvement to standardise processes so experience of this would be highly desirable

Role:

  • Establishing a culture of service excellence, quality and continuous improvement
  • Responsible for leading on the effective and accurate processes, recording and accounting for all financial transactions
  • Leading month end duties including reports, management accounts production
  • Developing and embedding well-controlled end to end processes with defined process ownership
  • Leading on delivery of strategic change, implementing controls and processes
  • Ensuring compliance across all accounting, tax, legislative and regulatory standards
  • Influencing and managing key stakeholders expectations - maintaining relationships
  • Own review of key finance operational controls on a monthly basis
  • Maintaining metrics and KPI's to drive continuous improvement culture and accountability
  • Strong team management

Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA), ideally with shared services experience
  • Extensive experience in financial operation controls, process improvement and delivery of strategic change
  • Strong, proven leadership experience of a large team
  • Able to think outside the box and evidence of designing and implementing KPI's and performance metrics
