Head of Finance

Leading strategic funding partner within the legal financial services remit are looking to recruit an experienced Head of Finance to work alongside the founders and executive team to develop the business which has had a highly successful launch and very ambitious plans for growth.

The business operate in a very niche sector and focus on a select number of mid-sized companies primarily based in the North of England. The Head of Finance will have full responsibility for partnering with said clients to ensure accounting is dealt with effectively from start to finish.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting function and coordinating with external service providers
• Delivery of periodic and quarterly financial reporting to the Executive Team, Board and funding partners
• Delivery of monthly financial and portfolio reporting to our funding partner including ensuring the integrity of the underlying data
• Managing the Company bank accounts and payment processes including the processing and recording of loan drawdowns
• Managing the Company's funding lines with our funding partners
• Managing compliance with our funding agreements
• Engaging with customers on their reporting obligations and proactively supporting them in delivering their reporting to us
• Delivery of annual statutory accounts and management of annual financial audit
• Manging the tax affairs of the Company including periodic VAT filings and co-ordinating annual corporation tax filings
• Delivery of annual financial projections and forecasts.
• Support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Board on risk and compliance

Further Responsibilities

• Support the ongoing analysis and review of the company's loan portfolio and corporate structure
• Engaging with customers on their reporting obligations and proactively supporting them in delivering their reporting to us
• Ongoing development and enhancement of reporting (internal and external)
• Comply with local financial requirements by staying up to date with existing and new legislation and implementing/proposing any amendments
• Build a strong control and compliance culture within the company in conjunction with the COO and CRO
• Support the delivery of payroll and benefits to the Company - including sourcing and overseeing external service providers
• Support a variety of Corporate/ Company Secretarial matters including assistance with filings and board meetings
• Support capital raising activities

What We're Looking For

• Qualified accountant, minimum 4+ years post-qualified experience
• Ideally Head/Deputy Head of Finance experience
• Strong accounting, MIS and excel skills
• Excellent communication skills - personable and articulate
• Understanding of credit/legal documentation and processes
• Proactive with an ability to meet strict deadlines

Nice to haves

• Experience of private equity backed businesses
• Experience of credit and underwriting analysis
• Prior experience managing senior stakeholders and reporting to the board.
• Experience working in a start-up or high growth environment with an ability to adapt processes to changing requirements

The successful candidate will report directly into the CFO and join a senior leadership team who have worked as a collective for the past 5 years. You will come from a financial services/banking background and possible have had some dealings within the loans or insurance space.
