Group Financial Accountant

Employment Type: PermanentLocation: City of ManchesterSalary: £35000 - £42000 per annum

Group Financial Accountant

Based: WFH but must be North West based (1-2 visits to the Manchester office per month)

Having worked with this business for years, we know them extremely well and have placed a large number of people in their growing finance function. The group is well known in the industry and offer a great place to work for their staff - good benefits, flexible working hours and will be WFH for the foreseeable future offering further flexibility.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for the management of technical accounting and tax requirements for a large subsidiary. You must have a strong background in financial controls, consolidation, tax and audit from either practice or industry

Role:

  • Ensuring effective financial regulatory and legislative compliance for the group, completing all financial regulatory returns
  • Prepare audit working papers and financial information to assist financial statements preparation
  • Preparing group consolidated financial accounts, taking into account all intercompany transactions
  • Preparing statutory accounts for a number of business subsidiaries ensuring all relevant statements and disclosures and completed accurately and reviewed
  • Ensuring financial information is correctly accounting for in the general ledger allowing group finance to accurately report monthly financial results
  • Challenging financial forecasts when required
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders, building relationships
  • Assisting with yearend audit/yearend timetable, preparing all tax packs and analysis
  • Ensuring each business entity in the group is compliant with all reporting standards including FRS102
  • Collating all financial information for annual business planning process including inter-company transactions and consolidation workings
  • Attending internal project meetings, offering financial support or challenging where required
  • Maximising IT systems and continuously driving efficiencies across finance

Skills:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified Accountant
  • Experience producing statutory accounts and reporting of financial information
  • Technical accounting knowledge including FRS102, audit, tax and financial controls
  • Strong Excel skills (Advanced)
  • Strong communication skills, able to business partner with finance and non-finance stakeholders and challenge where necessary
