Financial Systems Accountant

Based: South Manchester, Didsbury area

Salary: circa £60k, enhanced pension, hybrid working, flexible hours and excellent business with a fantastic culture

Our client are a market leading PE backed FMCG business based in South Manchester. They have experienced rapid growth over the last 2 years due to their entrepreneurial leadership and after taking their products global now with customers across the US, UK and further afield. Due to continued growth the business are looking for a systems savvy Financial Systems Accountant to join the team. The business offers and exciting opportunity for a qualified/part-qualified Accountant to join the team and progress in an ever changing role that could grow to Financial Controller in the future


Role:

  • Ensuring accuracy of financial information in the business, driving improvement projects
  • Leading on the development of the new ERP system
  • Systems project - understanding finance within the system and liaising with other departments regarding data
  • Digging into the data and managing continuous improvements through the system including management of control measures
  • Liaising with the wider business on updates and needs for the ERP system
  • Delving into detail - extracting from the system
  • Taking responsibility for month end close, hitting all deadlines
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analysing accounts with complex and aged balances
  • Analysing variances to standard costs and producing reports for departments
  • Preparing VAT, EC sales and Intrastat submissions for UK and European businesses
  • Working with external advisors on statutory accounts preparation and corporation tax compliance

Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualified/qualified Accountant
  • Strong balance sheet, audit and reconciliations experience essential
  • Systems and ERP knowledge essential - the ability to delve into data and problem solve
  • Organised, able to multi task and results focused

Ideally we are looking for someone who is immediately available or available with 4-6 weeks notice but will consider longer if needed.
