Financial Controller/Director - Number 1 role

Interim Financial Controller/Finance Director

Based: Blackburn area

Salary: £75-85k DOE + bonus + benefits including pension, private healthcare and flexible/hybrid working

6-12 month contract, potential permanent opportunity

Our client are a rapidly expanding manufacturing business operating in a niche sector. A growing SME, this role will be number 1 in finance reporting into the MD overseeing a team of 5 staff. This role will be heavily involved in business growth from a financial perspective across the UK and globally and working with senior leaders across the business in a business partnering capacity. Initially this will be a 6-12 month contract with potential to go permanent for the right person

Role:

  • Responsible for all aspects of finance overseeing management accounts, audit, year end and reporting
  • Reviewing monthly management accounts and delivering back to SLT in meetings
  • Overseeing all finance aspects accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing and reconciliations leading a team of 5
  • Shaping and developing clear financial plans feeding into short and long term business strategy
  • Sitting in weekly SLT meetings as part of the leadership team to dive business growth, profitability and investment
  • Implementing and streamlining controls, involvement in various digitalisation projects to improve efficiencies including new ERP implementation
  • Developing strong relationships with the MD and senior leaders in the business, challenging decisions and imparting financial knowledge to non-finance stakeholders
  • Leading negotiations with suppliers on various agreements, reviewing financial contracts and policies
  • Preparing financial statements, balance sheet, cash flow reports and financial projections

Experience:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with strong finance experience
  • Experience within manufacturing highly desirable
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team
  • International finance experience highly desirable (dealing with suppliers)
  • Strong ERP/control/efficiencies implementation and change exposure
  • Number 1 experience within an SME highly desirable
