Financial Controller - rapidly expanding SME

Financial Controller

Based: Manchester

Salary: up to £75k + bonus + benefits + opportunity to sit as part of the SLT involved in future business growth

We are working with a fantastic, rapidly expanding SME established over 10 years ago who are part of a wider, well-known group looking for a Finance Director in a newly created role for the business. Due to business growth plans over the next few years, we are looking for someone who is keen to add value, drive change and embark on a journey with the company. Working alongside the MD this position can offer fantastic exposure and career progression

We are looking for a technically strong finance leader with an entrepreneurial outlook who thrives in fast paced environments. You must be a strategic thinker and able to work as part of the SLT influencing commercial decisions through the production of accurate financial information.

Role:

  • Responsible for bringing statutory accounting production in house and creating meaningful board packs to present to SLT
  • Presenting MI data at exec and board meetings
  • Leading year end audit ensuring all findings resolved, developing and maintaining robust financial policies, internal controls and systems
  • Producing reports, statutory accounts, monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations
  • Business partner with the leadership team supporting new ventures/opportunities ensuring financial viability and forecasting of ROI
  • Working with external suppliers - Tax, HMRC, banks, building relationships
  • Managing monthly cash flow forecast, maximising cash holdings
  • Involvement and leading on change and process improvements within finance, developing new ideas/solutions to enhance and develop reporting and analysis
  • Working with group finance to ensure policies are maintained

Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified - essential
  • Strong technical background around audit, accounting policies, statutory prep and controls
  • Demonstrated experience of relaying financial information to senior stakeholders
  • Experience of leading a team, confident and ambitious with a good attitude
  • Passionate about the business, growth plans and the opportunities for this role
