Financial Controller - rapidly expanding SME

Based: Manchester centre

Salary: circa £60k + bonus + benefits including 25 days + stats, flexible working hours, health cashplan and more

My client are a rapidly expanding SME who are entering scale up phase of their growth. The business was set up 3-4 years ago, run by two impressive entrepreneurs they have gone from 0-£12m tunover in the first 3 years looking to double to £25m this year and plans to continue growing over the next few years. Already well-known in their industry, their products are already stocked in some of the biggest retailers across the globe - there isn't a better time to join them on the next stage of their growth journey!

We are looking for a strong Finance Manager/FC to join the team who is keen to join a business on an exciting journey of growth. The role will work closely with the FD and wider finance team (direct line management of 1 staff) and have exposure to the SLT from day 1. There is a great opportunity to become Head of Finance over the next couple of years

Role:

  • Day to day management of an Assistant Accountant, working with wider finance team on development of the finance team
  • Reviewing and adapting month end process/management accounts, implementing controls to aid with growth
  • Preparing key management information for board meetings
  • Responsible for monthly management accounts, KPI's and reconciliations
  • Developing ad-hoc operational and financial reports
  • Preparing statutory accounts and leading the annual audit process
  • Financial planning & analysis alongside the FD
  • Enhancing, streamlining and implementing new processes to ensure continuous improvement of internal controls
  • Business partnering with the wider business with a problem solving approach to finance issues
  • Assisting with projects surrounding business growth from a finance perspective

Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified either practice or industry trained
  • Retail/E-comm experience would be desirable but not essential
  • Strong excel and system skills
  • Experience working within an SME environment is essential
  • Keen to progress and develop your career
